How We Work

At Oak Plains Academy Foster Care, we train foster families and provide them with the resources and knowledge they need to welcome children into their home. Our therapists provide evidenced-based, intensive in-home services to those children that need extra support.

The Case Managers work with our foster parents to organize and keep track of the children’s different appointments and services as well as any educational needs the children might have.

In addition, our foster parents have a Resource Parent Support worker who specifically works with them aside from the children’s case manager. They ensure that the required monthly paperwork is completed, quarterly reviews, and annual and semi-annual reassessments are completed. Monitoring Post TN Key annual training and ensuring the home is compliant and meets the requirements of DCS is a key part of the Resource Parent Support worker duties.

We have a dedicated Placement Coordinator that gets to know all the foster parents and their homes so that the best possible matches can be made when making placements. Our goal is to support our foster parents so they can provide the best care for our children. Fostering is often a challenging calling but with the right supports and team surrounding you, it can be the most rewarding experience of your life.
